Brining Liquid for Turkey
  • Ingredients
  • 1 quart water
  • 1 /2 cup kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 quarts ice water
Directions
  1. Place 1 quart water, salt and sugar in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sugar and salt dissolve
  2. Add this mixture to the ice water. Yield: 1 gallon SUGGESTED USE: Brining or soaking a turkey (8 to 12 hours) in a salty liquid before cooking yields a moister, more flavorful cooked bird
  3. Multiply the brining liquid as need to cover the turkey completely
  4. Be sure to rinse the turkey well both inside and out before cooking.
