SHEEPHERDER BREAD
  • Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 cups sourdough starter
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Directions
  1. Sift all of the diy ingredients into a large bowl and dig a well in the center
  2. Add the sourdough starter. Blend the dry mix into the starter from the edges with enough flour to knead until smooth and shiny
  3. Place in greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise until dou- bled in size
  4. Then shape into two loaves and place in greased bread pans
  5. Bake at 375F
  6. about 40 minutes or until bread sounds hollow when rapped with a spoon.
