APPLE DENVER PIE
  • Ingredients
  • 6 tart apples
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 /2 cup brown sugar
Directions
  1. Wash, peel, and core apples; place cores and peelings in saucepan with 2 cups of water and boil down until one cup of juice is left
  2. Strain; add sugar, flour, nutmeg, and butter
  3. Place saucepan on stove and boil until it is a little thick, then cool
  4. Slice apples into crust; then pour the thickened juice over apples; place top crust on and vent
  5. Dampen pie with a little cold water and sprin- kle with a little white sugar
  6. Bake at 240F
  7. until apples are done and the crust is nice and brown.
