BURNT SUGAR ANGEL FOOD CAKE
  • Ingredients
  • 1 pint flour
  • 1-1/3 pint sugar
  • 15 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons burnt sugar
Directions
  1. Sift flour, sugar, and salt 6 times together
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff
  3. When partly beaten, add cream of tar- tar
  4. Finish beating
  5. Add vanilla and burnt sugar
  6. Stir flour and sugar in very slowly
  7. Bake in ungreased pan 1-1/4 hours in a very low oven (350F.)
  8. Add a little burnt sugar can also be added to the icing.
