SOUR MILK COFFEE CAKE
  • Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoons soda
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Directions
  1. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  2. Blend in beaten egg
  3. Dissolve soda in the cup of sour milk and set aside. Sift all dry ingredients together in separate bowl
  4. Then add dry ingredients and sour milk alternately to egg/butter mixture
  5. Pour batter into a greased, shallow pan and sprinkle melted butter over top
  6. Then mix the topping as follows.
