LYE SOAP USING CRACKLINGS
  • Ingredients
  • one gallon of cracklings
  • 1-1/2 cups of lye
  • 2 quarts of water
Directions
  1. Mix in soap kettle, or use enamel or granite pans
  2. Mix well and boil 15 minutes, or until cracklings are well dis- solved
  3. Remove from lire and stir until it thickens
  4. Pour into moulds and let harden and cut.
