Alfredo Sauce
  • Ingredients
  • 12 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley(optional)
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan
  2. Stir in the cheese
  3. Then add the cream and milk and heat through
  4. Be careful not to boil
  5. Just before serving add pep- per and parsley if desired
  6. Serves 4. LOWER-FAT VARIATION 2 cups skim milk 2 tablespoons imitation butter granules 12 wedges low-fat processed cheese, like Laughing Cow 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese Pinch of garlic powder In a medium-sized saucepan or double boiler, com- bine all the ingredients until all is melted and the sauce is velvety smooth, about 20 minutes
