SIMPLE PIZZA CRUST
  • Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • pinch sugar
  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
Directions
  1. Place yeast, sugar, and water in a large bowl and mix to dissolve
  2. Set aside in a warm, draft-free place for 5 minutes or until foamy. Place flour and salt in a food processor or blender and pulse once or twice to sift
  3. With machine running slowly pour in oil and yeast mix- ture and process to form a rough dough
  4. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes or until soft and shiny
  5. Add more flour if necessary. Lightly oil a large bowl then roll the dough around to cover the surface with oil
  6. Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap and place in a warm, draft-free place for 1-1/2 to 2 hours or until dough has doubled in volume
  7. Knock down and remove dough from bowl
  8. Knead briefly before using
  9. Makes 1 large or 4 individual crusts.
