PEARS WITH BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE
  • Ingredients
  • 4 large firm ripe Anjou or Bartlett pears
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE:
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk or whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
  1. Peel the pears, halve them lengthwise and core
  2. Toss with the lemon juice and granulated sugar
  3. Rotate in the Flat Standard Basket for 30 minutes or until tender
  4. Remove to serving bowls and top with Butterscotch Sauce. To make sauce, combine the evaporated milk or cream, brown sugar, butter and vanilla in a small saucepan
  5. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a gentle boil
  6. Cook until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.
