ASIAN SWEET-SPICY DIPPING SAUCE
ASIAN SWEET-SPICY DIPPING SAUCE
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons chili paste with garlic (or to
taste)
Directions
Combine sugar, water, vinegar and salt in a small saucepan
Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves
Reduce heat and simmer until syrupy, but do not allow sauce to caramelize, about 15 to 20 minutes
Remove from heat and stir in chili paste with garlic
Cool
Serve as a dipping sauce for chicken wings or shrimp.
