Tomato Wine Sauce
  • Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 medium tomatoes, seeded and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/3 cup red wine
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
Directions
  1. In a large skillet, saute the onion and garlic in oil over a medium-high heat until the onion is tender
  2. Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet, and stir
  3. Reduce heat, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the mixture is heated through
  4. Be careful not to overcook
  5. Toss with pasta and serve
  6. Serves 4.
