Cilantro Chili Butter Sauce
  • Ingredients
  • 2 (4-ounce) cans diced mild green chilies
  • 1/3 cup dry white wine
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup packed cilantro leaves
  • 1 /2 cup hot melted butter
Directions
  1. Place chilies, wine, green onion and lime juice in a small saucepan
  2. Bring to a boil and continue to cook until mixture is reduced by half
  3. Cool about 5 minutes
  4. Transfer chili mixture to a food processor or blender and puree
  5. Add the cilantro and finely chop
  6. With the machine running add the hot melted butter
  7. Serve immediately. Yield: 1/2 cup SUGGESTED USE: This fairly mild chili sauce is delicious served over cooked shrimp, chicken or even vegetables
  8. If you want a sauce with a bit more zip, add a minced serrano chili to the saucepan from the start.
