RED WINE PEACH SAUCE
  • Ingredients
  • 1-1/2-inch piece fresh ginger
  • 1 (16-ounce) can sliced peaches, drained
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups dry red wine
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions
  1. Peel and mince ginger
  2. Cover and set aside
  3. Cut peaches into medium dice
  4. Cover and set aside. Finely chop the onion
  5. Heat the oil in a medium saucepan and add the onion and sugar
  6. Cook, until onion is golden and sugar caramelizes, stirring often, about 6 minutes. Stir in wine, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, ginger and pepper
  7. Bring to a boil and cook 1 minute
  8. Remove from heat and stir in peaches.
