TOMATO WINE SAUCE
  • Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or olive oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion,chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 medium tomatoes, seeded and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/3 cup red wine
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
Directions
  1. In a large skillet, saute the onion and garlic in oil over a medium-high heat until the onion is tender
  2. Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet, and stir
  3. Reduce heat, and simmer for 15 to 20 min- utes, or until the mixture is heated through
  4. Be careful not to overcook
  5. Toss with pasta and serve.
