GOLDEN RAVIOLI
  • Ingredients
  • 1 full load pasta dough made into ravioli
  • 3/4 cup flavored bread crumbs
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese spaghetti sauce for dipping
Directions
  1. Make and cook your favorite ravioli (see recipes in Stuffed Pastas chapter) to desired doneness; drain, pat dry, and cool slightly
  2. Meanwhile, in a medi- um-sized bowl, combine the bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt, basil, and oregano; set aside
  3. In another bowl, mix together the milk and egg
  4. Dip the ravioli, a few at a time, into the milk-egg mixture, then into the bread crumb mixture to coat
  5. In a large skillet, heat the oil
  6. Fry the ravioli, a few at a time, until golden; drain on paper towels
  7. Cover and chill
  8. When ready to serve, preheat the oven to 350?F
  9. Arrange the ravioli on a baking sheet in a single layer and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top
  10. Bake for 15 minutes, or until heated through
  11. Serve hot with spaghetti sauce for dipping
  12. Serve as an appetizer or hors d'oeuvre.
