Texas- Style Sausage Chili
  • Ingredients
  • 1 pound spicy beef sausage
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder (or substitute
  • your own combination of spices such as
  • ground chilis, cumin, coriander,
  • fenugreek, and oregano)
  • 1 28-ounce can kidney beans
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
  1. Cut sausages into bite-sized chunks and saute until lightly browned
  2. Add the garlic and onion and cook ten minutes
  3. Add the chili powder, beans, tomato puree, salt and pepper
  4. Simmer about forty-five minutes or until thickened.
