Japanese Marinade
  • Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup sake
  • 3 tablespoons mirin
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Directions
  1. Place sake, mirin, soy sauce, wine, brown sugar and oil in a small bowl
  2. Whisk to combine. Yield: 1 cup SUGGESTED USE: Sake is a Japanese rice wine most often served hot
  3. Mirin is a Japanese sweet rice vinegar usually used for cooking
  4. Both are available in Asian markets and at some supermarkets
  5. Try this simple yet flavorful marinade on shrimp (1 to 2 hours), boneless chicken breasts (1 to 2 hours) or any chicken or pork kabobs or satay (1 to 2 hours).
