TRAPPER'S FRUIT
  • Ingredients
  • Version 2:
  • 2 pounds of dried apples
  • 2 cups of applesauce
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 1/2 cup of nuts of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons coriander seed
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 ounces of dark rum
  • whipped cream with vanilla
Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a heavy 4-quart casserole and mix well
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce to low, cover tightly and simmer for about 1-1/2 hours, or until the apples are tender
  3. Check occasionally and, if the fruit seems dry, add a little more water
  4. Transfer to a bowl and cool to room temperature before serving.
